The Program

The Millennium Challenge Corporation’s Board of Directors approved a five-year $215 million Compact with the Government of Honduras. The program objectives are to:

• Increase the productivity and business skills of farmers; and

• Reduce transportation costs between targeted production centers and national, regional and global markets.

The Program budget will be distributed in the following manner:

Rural Development Project

Farmer Training and Development $ 30.4 millions
Farmer Access to Credit $ 9.8 millions
Farm to Market Roads $ 21.5 millions
Agricultural Public Goods Grant Facility $ 9 millions
Rural Development Project Management $ 1.5 millions

Transportation Project

Highway CA-5 $ 96.4 millions
Secondary Roads $ 21.3 millions
Vehicle Weight Control $ 4.7 millions
Transportation Project Management $ 3.3 millions
