Contract with Transportation Project Outside Manager is signed

Contractor will start in the first week of February

Tegucigalpa. After finishing the corresponding procurement process, the contract for the Transportation Project Outside Manager Services of MCA-Honduras was signed on January 22, 2007.

The contract was signed by Martín Ochoa, MCA-Honduras General Director, and by the Louis Berger Group representative, Carlos Marcenaro. Representing the Millennium Challenge Account, during the signage were also present, Mr. John Wingle, Mr. Jonathan Brooks and Federico Giménez, as well as members of MCA-Honduras staff.

Contractor´s managing services include: Assistance in the rehabilitation and upgrading project of CA-5 North Highway; paving of 90 kms of the country´s secondary roads network; implementation of a weight and dimensions control system and improvement of 1,500 kms of rural roads.

Among the main activities to be performed by the Louis Berger Group, the emphasis will be addressed to assist in monitoring Compact conditions compliance; completion of final designs for the works, procurement processes administration and financial management regarding components dealing with environmental and social impact assessment of works and resettlement activities.
