Alianza interested in MCA-Honduras Rural Development Project
Tegucigalpa.- Executives of the Millennium Challenge Account of Honduras made a presentation of the Rural Development Project to members of Alianza in order to exchange opinions and alternatives regarding productivity of the national agricultural sector. Representatives of World Vision, Catholic Relief Services, Save the Children and Care, had access to detailed information on the activities being implemented through the Rural Development Project, which include: Farmers Training and Development, Farmers Access to Credit, Farms to Market Roads and the Grants Program. Attendees showed special interest in the training program addressed to farmers participating as MCA-Honduras beneficiaries, in the methodology to be applied in the grant program for public and semipublic agricultural goods, particularly in the process to select the projects that will be applying for funding to strengthen the agricultural sector productivity. The presentation was address jointly by Dr. Fredi Arias, Director of the Rural Development Project, and by Mr. Daniel Meza, Rural Finance Specialist, of MCA -Honduras.
