In the process of contracting supervision services for Highway CA-5 North

Tegucigalpa, January 24, 2008.- Representatives of four national firms attended the opening of financial proposals to supervise construction works in the section comprising the  End of Comayagua Valley- Taulabé of Highway  CA5-North.

The act was presided by MCA-Honduras officials and representatives of the Transportation Project Outside Manager who opened the financial proposals, read the contents and prepared the opening minute to be signed by the attendees.

Respondents included local companies in consortium with international firms, such as  DMJM Harris I Saybe y Asociados, BCEOMIConashISei, S.A., GatesaICal & Mayor y ASP/Ingeniero Tosticarelli y Asociados.

After the contract is signed with the selected firm, works to improve and extend the road are programmed to start by the end of May 2008.

The aforementioned sections comprise the expansion and enhancement of a total of 49.5 KM of the main route of communication in the country; this will imply important benefits for an important number of users who travel between Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula, and the availability of better, larger and safer highways will help strengthening Honduras´ economic growth, by stimulating sectors such as commerce, industry and tourism.
