El Cedro, Belén Gualcho, Ocotepeque.- Enthusiasm at its highest level continues among the men and women beneficiaries of the United Economy Project (Proyecto Economía Solidaria in Spanish) … without any time to lose, and with the precise organization the works to open trenches to install the pipeline of the irrigation system at El Cedro have begun. The initial goal is to complete a section of 2 thousand meters to install the pipeline. The works are being carried out in daily shifts of 8 hours with the participation of the project beneficiaries, trying to ensure the highest quality without destroying the handmade irrigation system that had been previously built with the effort of a group of beneficiaries. United Economy will directly benefit 72 producers and indirectly help approximately 210 persons by promoting their productive capacity and providing training on the rational use of natural resources. With the hard work and carefulness shown by the men and women participating in the Monte Cristo Agricultural Committee (the irrigation system managing entity) it is evident that the United Economy Project will positively impact on the welfare of the families and communities involved. |
