| | Belen Gualcho, April 2008.- Financed by the Millennium Challenge Account-Honduras and implemented by Global Village Project, a water reservoir is being built at El Tuyal as part of the Integrated Production System Project. Approximately twenty beneficiaries living in the area are currently participating as part of the local labor needed for the works.
The reservoir will benefit about 10 Lenca families of El Tuyal, Mataral and Hierbabuena by facilitating access to irrigation systems for their horticultural production, specially during the summer time.
The Integrated Production System Project is providing all heavy machinery needed in the construction of the dam, which will be providing continuous irrigation for approximately six hectares of farm land for horticultural production, particularly in the dry months. | |
