| | Belen Gualcho, April, 2008.- Pursuant a cooperation agreement with the community of Magueya, the residents of Mecate Blanco – a community located in Belen Gualcho, in the Ocotepeque Department- have joined in the construction of trenches along 18 km to connect the water line to a tank with a capacity of 80,000 gallons. This will allow access to irrigation water for the community of Magueyal, where at least 100 irrigation systems are expected to be installed in order to benefit an equal number of families. Thanks to this successful agreement, the Integrated Production System Project will be building another tank with a capacity of 42,000 gallons of irrigation water, aimed at benefiting the community with 25 additional irrigation systems for the production of vegetables.
We would like to congratulate our friends of Magueyal and Mecate Blanco for reaching this agreement, since it will greatly benefit their communities.
This project is being executed with the assistance of Global Village and funded by the Millennium Challenge Account-Honduras. | |
