In progress procurement process for coffee hybrids laboratory

La Fe, Ilama, Santa Bárbara.- In compliance with its internal regulations and transparency policy, the IHCAFE’s procurement committee will formally invite national suppliers to present offers for the purchase of equipment, glassware, utensils, goods and materials needed for its in vitro reproduction laboratory, located at the Jesus Aguilar Paz Research and Training Center, in La Fe.

In order to secure the laboratory operation in the short, medium and long term, the process is aimed at selecting the best option in terms of quality, service, guarantee and cost.  A key factor in the decision-making process will be the type of service to be provided by the suppliers mostly regarding maintenance, repairs and timely parts availability.

Purchases amount to almost 3.7 million lempiras, currently financed by the Millennium Challenge Account-Honduras and IHCAFE, as part of the agreement to develop the Coffee Hybrids Laboratory Project.   Most of the procurement of goods will completed by mid-September, in order to meet deadlines regarding the beginning of operations.

The Coffee Hybrids Laboratory will be fully equipped by the end of the year.
