La Guasimada, Goascorán, Valle. - The socialization of the Water Harvest Project, financed by the Millennium Challenge Account-Honduras and implemented by CHF International took place on August 16th, 2008, at the Luis Landa School of Agriculture. This presentation was held as part of the commitments acquired by CHF international to socialize this new proposal before being developed in Southern Honduras. Attendees included local authorities, the school´s Principal, professors and students, as well as local producers. The Luis Landa School of Agriculture was established almost twenty years ago, and prepares students in specialties such as agriculture, pisciculture and cattle raising. Having ample and appropriate facilities, it represents a good alternative to support development initiatives and the improvement of farming conditions, such as this project aimed at making better use of rain water for irrigation purposes. During the presentation, specialists of the Water Harvest Project expressed their interest in assisting local men and women farmers, as well as institutions of the area in “searching for alternatives to deal with climatic change”. |
