Four new Millennium housing projects have been inhabited

Amarateca, Francisco Morazán. - MCA - Honduras has built four new residential complexes for a total of 19 that have been established along Highway CA-5 North, resulting from the expansion and improvement of this country’s roadway.

These latest housing projects are Milenio Amarateca, Milenio El Espinal, Milenio El Durazno and Milenio La Cuesta, consisting of 35 homes and 26 businesses, relocating 50 families who were in the highway’s right of way.

These housing complexes and business centers are part of MCA-Honduras’s Resettlement Policy implementation, to ensure that families have better opportunities for economic growth such as having their own home and / or business with excellent conditions: water, electricity, sewage, green spaces, safety and the opportunity of living with their fellow workers in peace-filled communities.

MCA – Honduras has relocated a total of 230 families along Highway CA-5 North.

MCA - Honduras, through its Transportation Project and with social responsibility, connects markets to generate economic growth in the country.

A total of 300 people, including children and adults, are now living in these new neighborhoods, enabling them to have a decent place to live with facilities they did not have before and that meet sanitation needs.

Along Highway CA-5 North flows most of the import and export traffic in Honduras between Puerto Cortes and the main production and consumption centers near San Pedro Sula, Comayagua and Tegucigalpa, serving to transport a significant percentage of traffic volume of the national road network.

As a result of efficient and transparent processes, an additional $ 130 million will be managed by MCA-Honduras, from the Loan Agreement between the Government of Honduras and the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE).

In 2012, these resources will serve to complement roadway work. The section where these four housing projects are located (Tegucigalpa - Rio del Hombre) is where Highway CA-5 North is being widened to four lanes.
