The Millennium Challenge Account – Honduras will administer an additional of $28 million
Thanks to the initiatives of its Board of Directors and the technical work made by its Administrating Unit, the Millennium Challenge Account will administer 28 million dollars in addition to the 130 million dollars that the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) is co-financing for the enhancement to four lanes of the CA-5 North Highway.
The trust deposited in the Millennium Challenge Account – Honduras is the result of its background successfully implementing the funds from the United States of America Millennium Challenge Corporation, being a model to be followed worldwide for its execution meeting the estimated time, budget and achievement of goals
Under the new management model of the Millennium Challenge Corporation, the goal is with this new amount, conclude the enhancing Works of the main communications route in the country by middle 2012 and having the Millennium Interchange completed by the end of the same year, a monumental work located at the entrance to the capital city that will propitiate an effective distribution of traffic and a constant traffic flow.
The additional funds will start to be executed once the notification and agreements signed are published in the Official daily La Gaceta.
The Millennium Challenge Account – Honduras will also administer the $28 million additional to the $130 million that the CABEI is co-financing for the enhancement to four lanes of the CA-5 North Highway.
With this new amount, the goal is to conclude the enhancing Works of the main communications route in the country by middle 2012.
