Supervision Tour to the Agricultural Trust Fund Conducted

The Technical Support Unit for the MCA-Honduras Trust Fund and officers of BAC Honduras visited six intermediary entities managing funds from the Trust Fund in the departments of Ocotepeque, Copán, Santa Bárbara and Lempira.

The tour had as its main purpose the verification of the compliance with the regulations and operative guidelines of the Millennium Challenge Account - Honduras Trust Fund by the financial intermediaries in charge of granting the funds to beneficiary producers.

Likewise, the tour also serves to know of the problems faced by the producers of high value crops in those departments. Field visits were made to 24 producers and 3 producers that are or have been benefitted with credit from the Trust Fund.

The results of the tour were presented in a report to the Technical Committee for Management and Supervision of the Trust Fund in order to find solutions and carry out activities focused on building the capacities of the intermediary entities in matters related to the support to the producers in commercializing and technical assistance.
